1. DANIEL EVANS OFFICE HEADQUARTERS
Paloma makes her way across the street and in front of the building. She stops shortly before reaching the front entrance and second guesses whether she’s doing the right thing. She questions whether this will actually work and do any good. Turning around she sees Gregory and Walter waiting in the car giving her the signal to go ahead. Slowly she enters the building very timid at first but gradually gains her courage and heads to Daniel’s office. She remembers that this isn’t just for her but it’s for her family as well. As she reaches the door of Daniel’s office, she checks to make sure that her wire and mic aren’t showing. Everything’s in place. Paloma takes one last deep breath and opens the door. Just as she is about to enter, it appears that Daniel was just about to leave. Her appearance catches Daniel off-guard.
Daniel: Well this is certainly a surprise. What brings you here at this time of night? Shouldn’t you be studying or something?
Paloma: Not tonight. I needed to see you.
Daniel: Needed? Well this definitely got interesting fast. See me for what?
Paloma: To talk.
Daniel: I think at this point talk is cheap. I couldn’t even think of what there’s left to say between us.
Paloma: I can think of plenty.
This sudden confidence and control Paloma possesses intrigues Daniel very much. He starts to wonder if he judged her character wrong. Daniel steps to the side to let Paloma into his office and closes the door after her.
Daniel: Can I offer you a drink?
He steps back and realizes what he’s just said.
Daniel: Hmm. I suppose not. That’s what caused this trouble in the first place.
Paloma: I’m fine. I just came here to talk.
Daniel: About?
Paloma: The lies you’re spreading about me and my family. They aren’t true. None of it is true.
Daniel: We all believe what we want to believe. In this case it’s just fortunate that the majority believes what I believe.
Paloma: That’s only because of who you are. Your power.
Daniel: That may be slightly true.
Paloma: Do you get some kind of sick pleasure out of destroying a family?
Daniel: Not at all. Listen, I do have somewhere else I need to be this evening. What exactly did you hope to gain here tonight?

2. THE CONTINENTAL APARTMENT BUILDING, 885 6TH AVE., KENDALL and AMY-BETH’S APARTMENT
Mason has arrived at Kendall’s apartment after Kyle telling him to come over. At first he was hesitant but the fact that Kendall allowing Kyle into her apartment was enough to convince that this must be important. Each are seated at the dining room table. Kyle has told them about finding out that he wasn’t a Channing. That he isn’t Mason’s brother at all. Kendall and Mason both are shocked by the information. The fact that his mother could harbor this secret for so many years blows his mind.
Kyle: You can imagine how much of a surprise it was to me.
Mason: I just don’t get it. Why?
Kyle: It’s a long story apparently. I didn’t really get the full story but it appears there’s a lot more to it. I just didn’t have the patience to stick around and hear it. All I wanted to do was get out of there as fast as possible. But I wanted to tell you both. For so many years I’ve been living this life of a Channing man and trying to be what I thought I was suppose to be. It’s not really who I am. I am not this monster that everyone thinks I am even though I’ve given everyone reason to believe I am. You know what it’s like living in that house Mason. It’s not easy. Dad-William never made it easy.
Mason: I know. It’s not simple.
Kendall: This is just insane. I can’t believe it. Who would have ever thought?
Kyle: Not me. But now I can change my life, move on, and fix the wrongdoings. From day one I’ve been negative towards your relationship with each other and for absolutely no good reason. I suppose it’s because of my selfishness. I was so jealous of not having what you two had that I just wanted to destroy it. I can’t take back anything I’ve done. The only thing I can do now is accept responsibility for my actions.
Mason: Well I appreciate that.
Kendall: Me too. Can’t say this anything I would have ever thought I’d hear coming from you. But it’s nice.
Mason: Why did you feel like you had to live up to dad’s image so much? What made you feel like you had to be this ideal man for him?
Kyle: There are several reasons.
Kyle contemplates how much further he wants to go with his honesty right now. So far it’s felt great being honest for the very first time in his life but he’s not sure how much more honesty he has in him. To divulge any further would change his life forever.
Kyle: There’s something you need to know.

3. THE WALDORF HOTEL
Olivia: Kyle and Mason wouldn’t want you acting this way. Think about them.
Rebecca: Don’t you dare talk about my sons! It’s because of you that the lives they’ve known their whole life has all gone to hell!
Olivia: I felt that William and Kyle deserved to know the truth.
Rebecca: Bull! Don’t even try and act like you did this for them! You did this all for yourself! And now I’m going to do something for me.
Rebecca raises her hand with the gun straight at Olivia’s face.
Olivia: Rebecca please!
Just as Rebecca’s about to shoot there’s a knock at the door. Both of their eyes dart in the direction of the door. Rebecca quickly shifts her focus back at Olivia who’s trying to decide whether or not to make a noise. Rebecca gives her a slight nod to shut up.
Rebecca: Don’t make a sound or I swear I’ll blow your head off and won’t think twice.
After making sure that it’s secure she then heads down the hall to the door. Peeping out the peephole she sees William standing outside the door. This is the last person she needs to see right now or even expected to see. She checks behind her to make sure everything is alright and that nothing looks out of the ordinary incase William made it in. But he can’t. It would only expose her and her plan. She waits silently hoping William will just give up and leave.
William: Olivia! It’s William! Are you in there?
Olivia hears the voice calling and immediately recognizes that it’s William. She fights calling out to him knowing that Rebecca is just around the corner with a gun. Her eyes scan the room for a solution. Nothing.
Rebecca’s temper flares knowing that Olivia knows that William is standing right outside. She patiently continues waiting at the door for William to give up and leave. She walks back to the living room to check on Olivia and finds her still there.
Rebecca: Not a word, you hear me?
Olivia simply nods at her. Rebecca heads back to the front door and sees William still standing there.
4. THE CONTINENTAL APARTMENT BUILDING, 885 6TH AVE., KENDALL and AMY-BETH’S APARTMENT
Kyle: I’ve spent a great deal of time most of my life not being honest with myself. Not being honest with anyone. I’ve been trying to so hard to fit into a family that turned out not to be my family. So much time has been wasted.
Mason: You can’t feel that way. We may not be family by blood but we’re all still family.
Kendall: Mason’s right. I may not like the choices you’ve made but I can’t ignore how you have always looked out for Mason. I wish I had an older brother to look after me.
Kyle: That’s just it. I wasn’t an older brother looking after you Mason. I was deliberately trying to sabotage you because of my own personal demons.
Mason: Demons? What are you talking about?
Kyle: There’s a reason why I’ve acted the way I have.
Mason: I know. It’s because you felt like you had to live up to this perfect image.
Kyle: That’s only part of it. There’s another reason that had more to do with it. It’s only until now when I feel like I have nothing left that I’ve started to admit it and deal with it.
Mason: What is it? You can tell me.
Kyle looks at both Kendall and Mason. He realizes that to be honest with himself is one thing but to be honest with others would be a whole other story. It would then make it real.
Kyle: I’m gay.
5. DANIEL EVANS OFFICE HEADQUARTERS
Paloma: I want you to admit that you lied. I want you to finally tell the truth and stop all the lies. I want you to think about someone other than yourself and this election.
Daniel: I’m afraid the only thing on my mind these days is the election my dear. Sorry.
Paloma: If people only knew the real you they wouldn’t vote for you.
Daniel: I’m afraid that’d be true about half of the people this country has elected. If we voted based on people’s personal morals and behaviors then no one would be in office. I am not a perfect man nor have I ever claimed to be. But I am a damn good politician and I get the job done well. That’s all people really care about. I’m not sitting down at dinner with these folks. Forget my table manners. They care about how I operate on the job.
Paloma: I’m pretty sure there isn’t a difference for you. I’m sure this who you are completely all the time and they just don’t know it yet.
Daniel: You really need to pay much more attention in school and in watching the news. The people aren’t stupid. I’ve been this way for years and have built quite a successful career out of it. With me everyone knows what they’re getting. That’s why they’re not afraid. That’s why they feel confident in electing me. There’s no surprises.
Paloma: Yet countless individuals get trashed along the way.
Daniel: So there are a few casualties along the way. So be it! It’s a dirty business. You are by far nothing compared to others I have had to dispose of.
Paloma: So you admit it?
Daniel takes a long hard look at Paloma. Why is she pressing this so hard?
Daniel: I don’t get it. Why are you here? You’re pressing this issue mighty hard. If you know me so well then you should know what the outcome of this will be.
Paloma: I told you already.
Daniel: Right?
Daniel starts stepping in closer to Paloma slowly. Their eyes are locked on each other. Paloma’s heart starts racing as he comes closer but never loses focus on him.
Daniel: You’re sure you’re not here for another reason?
Daniel places his hands on her shoulder and she fights the edge to knock it off in fear that she’ll expose the wire. Her body trembles as he runs his hands down her shoulder. Daniel takes one last look in the eye and in one quick motion rips open her shirt. There it is. The very thing he suspected, a wire. Paloma’s heart stops as she looks down at her exposed. She looks back up slowly at Daniel and their eyes meet.
Daniel: Oh dear, what do we have here?
6. THE WALDORF HOTEL
Rebecca: Come on William, get the hell out of here. I don’t have time for this.
Meanwhile in the living room Olivia slowly rises from her seat. Tip-toeing across the room, she peeks to see Rebecca still at the front door keeping an eye on William. Seeing that she’s still there, she makes her way over to the coffee table. William knocks one more time at the door and waits for a response. Rebecca watches as he starts to walk away. Olivia picks up the telephone.
Rebecca: Finally.
Olivia in a quick panic quickly dials out a number on the phone and seats the handle on the floor. She runs back to her chair just in time as Rebecca makes her way back in the room.
Rebecca: Sorry about that little disturbance. Now where were we?
Meanwhile out in the hall William’s cell phone starts ringing. He looks at the number and recognizes that it’s coming from Olivia’s room at the Waldorf.
William: Hello? Olivia? Hello?
Getting no answer on the phone, he walks back to the front door.
Olivia: Don’t do this Rebecca. It’s not worth it. Think of your life.
Rebecca: My life! What life? I have no life. You destroyed it.
William faintly hears the voices through the phone and immediately recognizes them.
Olivia: Killing me isn’t going to solve anything.
Rebecca: Speak for yourself! I on the other hand think it’d solve a lot of my problems right now. The main one being you.
Olivia: Think about Mason. What kind of mother could you possibly be for him still behind bars?
Rebecca: Who said anything about behind bars? Who said anything about getting caught? When I’m done with you no one will be able to find you.
Olivia: Kyle and Mason wouldn’t want you acting this way. Think about them.
Rebecca: Don’t you dare talk about my sons! It’s because of you that the lives they’ve known their whole life has all gone to hell!

7. THE CONTINENTAL APARTMENT BUILDING, 885 6TH AVE., KENDALL and AMY-BETH’S APARTMENT
Kyle looks around the room as both Mason and Kendall sit in silence. They each take in what Kyle has revealed to them. Clearing his throat, Kyle breaks the silence.
Kyle: I’m not sure if silence is what I expected but I suppose there are worse responses.
Mason: I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be silent. I’m just shocked.
Kyle: It’s alright. I understand.
Kendall: Listen, why don’t I give you two some time to talk. I’ll just be in the bedroom if you need me.
Mason: Thanks Kendall.
Kendall rises from the couch and heads to her bedroom leaving them alone. Kyle notices Mason still trying to figure it out.
Kyle: I know that this is all a lot to take in. It’s been a hell of a time for me as well. In a short amount of time my entire life has changed.
Mason: I just don’t understand. How long have you known this?
Kyle: Well if I want to be honest with myself I’d say I’ve known all along. I always knew I was different. But different wasn’t something that was celebrating in the Channing family. I made the decision subconsciously I believe to bury my feelings into work. That was my way of suppressing it and not dealing with it. No one would be able to comment on my personal life or take notice of how I never had a relationship if they saw what a hard worker I was. I think I got so wrapped up in this fantasy that even I forgot.
Mason: You’ve been keeping this to yourself all this time?
Kyle: It’s not like I had anyone else in my corner.
Mason: You could have had me. You’ve spent all these years pushing me away and picking fights with me when you could have had me at your side. I’m your brother. I would have supported you and stood up for you. For that to be the reason that put a wedge between us is ridiculous.
Kyle: I wish I knew that then. But I’m glad to know that now.
8. DANIEL EVANS OFFICE HEADQUARTERS
Daniel: You’ve come to set me up, haven’t you?
Paloma: Let me go!
Daniel: Did you come to get some type of confession out of me? Is that what you hoped to get?
Paloma: Please!
Daniel rips the wire from Paloma and tosses it to the ground. Paloma watches in horror as it shatters into pieces.
Meanwhile outside across the street, Walter and Gregory are still in the car.
Gregory: We’ve lost connection.
Gregory picks up a nearby receiver to reach his two men standing by.
Gregory: All in, now!
Walter: We have to go in. Let’s go.
Gregory and Walter exit out of the car. Meanwhile Victoria is still seated in her car waiting for Daniel’s return. She looks out of the window and sees Walter rushing across the street.
Victoria: Oh no.
Victoria immediately gets out of her car and follows them into the building.
Daniel: I knew you were up to something. What kind of idiot do you take me for?
Paloma: If you just let me go now I won’t say a word. Please?
Daniel: I love when a person begs. Never show someone how vulnerable you are. It just gives the other person a green light to play on your weakness and desperation. On the contrary though it’s kind of a turn on.
Paloma: Please!
Daniel advances toward Paloma and rips off the rest of her shirt. He firmly grabs her by her arms and pushes her to his desk.
Paloma: Help me! Please! Someone!
Daniel tosses his handkerchief into Paloma’s mouth to muffle her screams. She feels his cold lips kiss her neck and down to her chest. Her eyes stay fixated up on the white ceiling as she hears the buckle of his belt come undone. She tries to break herself free but the weight his body on her own keeps her down.
Daniel: Stop fussing!
Daniel grips her down as he goes in for another kiss. Paloma tries to turn her head away to avoid him. As she looks over to her left she sees a large paper weight on the edge of the desk. She tries reaching over to it but she can’t quite reach it. On her third try she finally gets ahold of it. With one strong swing she knocks Daniel over the head. With one powerful blow Daniel’s body falls to the floor in front of her. Paloma removes to the handkerchief from her mouth just as the door opens. Standing in front of her are Gregory, Walter, and Victoria.
Victoria: Oh my God. Daniel!
Walter: Paloma, are you alright?
Victoria rushes over to Daniel’s side as Walter goes to Paloma. Gregory meanwhile takes care of his men outside of the office.
Paloma: He was trying to rape me! He found the wire! I was so scared!
Walter: It’s going to be alright. We’re here now. Did he hurt you?
Paloma: He didn’t get a chance to.
Victoria: Oh my God! I think he’s dead.
9. THE WALDORF HOTEL
Olivia: Don’t you think that when they notice I’m gone that the first person that they’re going to think of is you?
Rebecca: By the time they even notice that you’re gone I’ll be far far away where no one will be able to find me.
Olivia: They’ll find you and when they do they’ll lock you away and throw away the key.
Rebecca: Then so be it! It would have been well worth it. Seeing you disappear is enough for me.
Olivia: I’m not the answer. Killing me isn’t going to solve your problems.
Rebecca: I wouldn’t have any problems if it weren’t for you in the first place! So I’d say killing you would solve a lot my issues right now!
A knock at the door again.
Rebecca: Really? God must really be on your side right now. Don’t move!
Rebecca makes sure that she’s gotten across to Olivia before departing for the door. Olivia watches as Rebecca tucks in her gun behind her back. She leaves the room and walks back to the front door. She peeks out and sees no one around. Rebecca opens the door before immediately being hit in the face and thrown to the ground. William charges through the door and runs pass Rebecca.
William: Olivia!
Olivia: William?! Help!
Just as William is about to pass Rebecca, she grabs his leg and he comes falling to the ground. Olivia hears the thump and raises from her chair. Olivia comes charging around the corner only to get hit in the face by Rebecca waiting around the corner.
Rebecca: Where are you going?!
Rebecca grabs Olivia and starts to choke her. William pulls Rebecca off Olivia before getting a good kick to the groin. Rebecca quickly grabs her gun from her back and turns back to Olivia. Olivia grabs hold of Rebecca’s arm and struggles to retrieve it from her.
Rebecca: Let go!
William slowly recovers from the ground but still in pain. He looks up for a brief moment and sees the ladies struggling. As he tries to get to standing he hears a loud bang that blows his eardrums. The sound of the gunshot echoes in the room. He looks on at Olivia facing him and Rebecca turned away.
Kyle looks around the room as both Mason and Kendall sit in silence. They each take in what Kyle has revealed to them. Clearing his throat, Kyle breaks the silence.
Kyle: I’m not sure if silence is what I expected but I suppose there are worse responses.
