1. CHANNING MANSION
It's the following morning at the Channing Mansion. Rebecca Channing wakes from her bed this morning to see that her husband isn't there. She rises from the bed and walks over to the windows to check out the weather. It’s a sunny and warm day without a cloud in the sky. She closes the drapes and heads to the office to find William. When she approaches the door she can hear William talking. She looks through the crack of the door and sees that he's talking with his right hand man, Scott Peters.
William: Are you sure about this? It just doesn't make any sense to me.
Scott: I received the call about it last night. But I didn't believe it either. So I had our boys look more into it. I wouldn't have believed it myself if I didn't see the surveillance tapes. It's true.
William: Fine. No one else is to know about this for now until I figure out how I want to proceed with this. Understood?
Scott: Perfectly clear.
Rebecca opens the door, revealing herself to William and Scott. They are unaware that she has been listening in.
Scott: Rebecca, good morning.
Rebecca: Good morning. Do you mind if I have a word alone with my husband?
Scott: Of course.
Scott excuses himself from the room, closing the door behind him.
Rebecca: Should I even ask what that was all about?
William: It appears we have an unwanted visitor.
Rebecca: Visitor? Who?
2. THE CONTINENTAL APARTMENT BUILDING, 885 6TH AVE., KENDALL'S APARTMENT
Amy-Beth Richards, Kendall's best friend and roommate, has been out of town for a while visiting her family in Connecticut. She returns to the apartment finding it rather quiet. She figures Kendall is most likely out for the day. Amy-Beth drops her luggage at the front door and heads for the kitchen to brew some coffee. She opens the curtains to let some light in before heading to her bedroom. Just before her bedroom is Kendall’s bedroom. She glances in to find Kendall still in bed and asleep. She hears Kendall's cellphone vibrating and assumes it's her alarm. Amy-Beth walks into the room and shuts off the alarm which awakens Kendall.
Kendall: Amy?
Amy-Beth: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you. I was just shutting off your phone.
Kendall: You're back? I thought you weren't getting back in until tomorrow.
Amy-Beth: I was but decided I'd rather come today. What's up with you sleepyhead? Rough night out?
Kendall: What?
Amy-Beth: You look exhausted. What did you do last night?
Kendall: Oh nothing. I just had a long day that's all. Just tired.
Kendall gets out of the bed trying to avoid this conversation and talking about her encounter with Kyle the previous evening. She spent last night going over everything in her mind that he said. How is she to break up with Mason? Should she? Amy-Beth looks off at Kendall realizing that something is quite off with her and that there's something that she's not telling her. Having been friends for years now she's been able to pick up on when something is wrong.
Amy-Beth: Are you sure you're alright? You seem preoccupied? Did something happen with Mason while I was gone?
Kendall: Mason? No. I'm fine. I'm just thinking of my day that's all. Business has been crazy lately, that's all. You have nothing to worry about. I'm gonna hop in the shower.
Kendall quickly ends the conversation and rushes out of the room to the bathroom. Amy-Beth is not quite sure whether or not Kendall is being completely honest with her, but for now it's something she'll decide to let go.

3. THE EVANS' APARTMENT, UPPER EAST SIDE
It's early in the morning still and already Daniel, Lauren, and Carter are busy at work. They have been working on some key points for the upcoming press conference and debate in New York.
Daniel: We have to continue keeping the people on our side. That's where we’re going to really win this. Now that people have started distrusting Walter, we have to go after them stronger now. I want to really drive our motto into them: spend less, tax less, and create more jobs. I think people have this pre-conceived idea that all republicans want to do is raise taxes and that's simply not the case here. I understand that raising taxes on those who already in a bind is not going to help this economy. Instead it will only get worse.
Carter: So you say that the mayor is fully onboard with your fiscal agenda?
Daniel: He doesn't have a choice in the matter.
Lauren: Our main agenda has to be increasing spending. That's what will make this work in my opinion.
Carter: How do you increase spending when there's nothing for people to spend? That's the issue. How do you get money back into the hands of those who don't have any?
Daniel: By creating more jobs. Let's put the focus back on the areas where it's needed most. Healthcare and education. I understand completely that right now we have to work with the Democrats. I do. These are two of the areas that they are most passionate about. So I say why not join them in this but seek control on how it's done.
Carter: This past year the Legislature and Governor were able to eliminate a large deficit without raising taxes.
Daniel: And they have to trust that it can happen again. But our top priority has to be promoting growth in businesses, creating and increasing jobs, and building up this economy again. Alright?
Lauren: Great. We better go Carter. We have that meeting with Patrick at noon. We'll keep you posted Daniel.
After a rather successful meeting, Lauren and Carter gather up their things and escort themselves out of the apartment. Daniel, feeling rather confident and in a good place this morning, walks over to the kitchen to pour himself a cup of coffee. He takes in the smell as it pours into the cup. Victoria who has been held up in the bedroom while Daniel took his meeting ventures out into the kitchen herself.
Victoria: Well you look in a happy mood. Meeting must have gone well?
Daniel: It did. I must say I thought this would be harder but with Walter practically handing this over to me it's been the easiest thing ever.
Victoria: How ever humble you are.
Daniel: Humble? I'm just right.
Victoria: My point exactly. You don't think that perhaps Walter has a secret plan for you that he's just waiting to use?
Daniel: Are we talking about the same Walter Malone?
Victoria: Why did I ask? But if I were you I wouldn't be so sure.

4. CHELSEA STUDIOS, CHELSEA
A sea of people wait in the lobby of Chelsea Studios waiting for one of the two elevators to arrive. Some have chosen to take the back staircase while some others who are aware of the freight train elevator a few blocks before hitch a ride there. Sarah Yates is one of many hopeful ladies showing up for the 10am dance call for replacements in the upcoming non-equity tour of “Catch Me If You Can”. It’s one of three auditions Sarah has planned for the day. Sarah had moved to New York three years ago after graduating from college. After a string of summer stock jobs and a few good credits at regional theatres, she’s longing for something more. A break. Tired of waiting for the elevator she takes the stairs for a long stroll up. On the walk up she goes over in her head a list of possible songs in her book that she could sing if she’s kept to sing after the dance call. Feeling a little vocally fatigued today she quickly nixes off several options in her book. She finally makes it up to her floor and approaches the monitor.
Sarah: Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m here-
Monitor: Sign your name here. Take a number, leave a headshot and resume, and go wait in the holding room with the other girls.
Sarah: Do you know if-
Monitor: We will be typing out ladies at 9:30. Dancing 20 girls at a time starting at 10. Sign up and wait in the holding room.
Sarah, disturbed by the attitude of the monitor, signs the official list for the day and drops off her headshot/resume. She quickly heads to the holding room. She walks in the room and as usual there’s a swarm of ladies who all look just like her.
5. CHANNING INDUSTRIES
Kyle is in his office going through some files on a new client that Channing Industries just brought on. He's always one of the first people in the office in the morning and one of the last to leave. Due to the expansion of the company, Kyle has had to take on more responsibilities since his father is unable to be around all the time. For Kyle, he sees this company as his future. That one day he'll fully take over this company and run it. James, Kyle's uncle, is standing at the doorway unnoticed. He watches as his nephew sits in a chair that he once did.
James: Hard at work I see.
Kyle looks up and sees James at the door.
Kyle: Uncle James?
Kyle gets up and hugs James. Kyle always looked up to James as a kid. James always saw that Kyle would seek William's approval on everything. Kyle's childhood wasn't exactly always easy. Being the first child there were a lot of responsibilities placed on him that shouldn't be on any child. When James decided to release part of his duties at Channing Industries they all fell to Kyle. James has always felt guilty about stripping Kyle from what could really be his life. Instead Kyle has become his own father, completely sucked into the company and nothing else.
Kyle: When did you get into town? Does father know you're here?
James: Yesterday and no your father does not know. I thought I'd come here to find him but he isn't here.
Kyle: He usually comes in around noon.
James: Noon? He's slacking off in his old age. But with you around I trust that the company is good hands.
Kyle: Thanks. It is.
James: So how are things holding up here?
Kyle: Great. We can't complain. Business has been going rather well these days. Just signed on two new major accounts.
James: I heard. You got Mr. Weir? That man has been sought after for about twenty five years now. Good stuff. You should be proud of yourself.
Ian, a new hire at Channing Industries, enters the office seeking Kyle.
Ian: Sorry to interrupt Kyle but these updates on the Philmore account have to be reviewed and approved today.
James: Listen you get back to work. I'll catch up with you later. It's good to see you.
Kyle: Good to see you too.
Ian and Kyle head over to the desk to work. James for a second watches them, remembering the days when he use to reside in this office for hours. Every now and then James thinks that he misses it but then he remembers how this company practically tore his parents apart. He remembers his father barely having any life that was outside of these walls and how that is now starting to happen to his brother William.
6. CHANNING MANSION
Rebecca: Well are you going to tell or not?
William: It’s nothing for you to concern yourself with now.
Rebecca: Oh that makes me a feel a whole lot better. Anytime you say that I shouldn’t worry about something is usually when I should. Now are you going to tell me what’s going on or do I have to find out for myself.
William: Fine. But it’s still very early. I haven’t seen any definite proof yet.
Rebecca: Proof?
William: It’s Olivia. Scott got word last night that she’s back.
Rebecca: Back? That can’t be. She’s back in New York?
William: Apparently. Scott says that they have video placing her at the airport.
Rebecca: Why? What does she want?
William: I don’t know but that’s what I intend on finding out.
Rebecca: William this isn’t good. There’s no reason for her to be back here. You don’t think-
William: I don’t know. There could be a million reasons why she’s back.
Rebecca: Oh please William. You know damn well there’s only one reason why she’s back. For revenge. I always thought that one day she’d return.
William: Get ahold of yourself. We need to be calm and act like nothing has happened. As far I’m concerned nothing has. And even still she doesn’t know everything so what do we have to be worried about.
Rebecca: Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe after all this time that maybe Olivia has found out the truth? Just perhaps somehow she figured out what we all actually did to her. To her and her family.
William: I am warning you. Enough of this talk. I don’t want to hear anymore of it. Now I’ve got to head down to the office. I trust you’ll behave yourself while I’m gone.
William gathers up his things and exits the room. Meanwhile Rebecca crosses over to the phone at the desk and dials a number. It rings several times before a man answers.
Rebecca: Gregory, it’s me Rebecca. I need you to come by the mansion right away. It’s urgent.
7. CHELSEA STUDIOS, CHELSEA
Back at Chelsea Studios, the monitor makes her way to the holding room with twenty headshots in her hand. As she walks through the door the room suddenly quiets.
Monitor: Alright, numbers 80-100. Please line up accordingly in the hallway. We will be taking you in ten at a time for typing. Those who are kept please regroup here and we will start back at group one for dancing. Those not kept your headshots will be returned to you and you may enjoy the rest of your day.
The twenty girls quickly line up outside in the hall in numerical order. Sarah finds her spot as number 85. The monitor leads the first ten of girls in the room. In the room is the casting director for the production with two of their interns. The monitor hands over the ten headshot/resumes of the ladies in the room. All of the hopeful dancers stand in a straight line each hoping that either they like what they see in front of them or that the line of work on their resumes persuades them to keep them. Sarah stands tall with an arched back and beveled right leg knowing exactly the style they’re looking for in the show. The casting director eyes each girl as he comes to their headshot/resume. At the conclusion he hands two separate piles back to the monitor who then escorts the ladies back out in the hall.
Monitor: Alright, if I call your number then please stick around this morning to dance. If I do not call your number then please pick up your things and you may go. Number 80, 82, 83, 87..
Sarah phases out the rest the monitor has to say after hearing her number skipped. Disappointed she walks back into the holding room and grabs her things. She re-enters the hallway and picks up her headshot/resume. Atleast she can reuse it for later? As she starts to walk down the hallway, she runs into her friend from college, Amanda.
Amanda: Sarah?
Sarah: Amanda? What are you doing here?
Amanda: I’m here for a call-back.
Sarah: Oh wow, that’s awesome. For what?
Amanda: Nothing major. It’s just for this regional production of “The Producers”. They’re seeing me for Ulla.
Sarah: That’s incredible.
Amanda: Yeah unfortunately the pay isn’t anything like at City Center. But it’s a gig. So, what’s new? What are you up to?
Sarah: Oh nothing much. Just got typed out of the “Catch Me If You Can” call.
Amanda: Oh no. I would think you would be perfect for that.
Sarah: That makes two of us.
Amanda: Well their lost I say. If it makes you feel any better I heard it’s practically been cast already. I think they’re just looking for two female swings at the moment. But who knows? Hey, listen I gotta run to my callback. Call me sometime. We’ll get lunch.
Sarah: Great. Break a leg.
Amanda: Thanks.
Sarah smiles at Amanda and then starts making her way to the elevator. She looks at her watch seeing if she has enough time to crash another audition possibly at Ripley Grier about ten blocks from here.
Sarah: Oh come on! Really?!
Sarah, frustrated of waiting for the elevator shuffles her way back down the stairwell.
8. THE CONTINENTAL APARTMENT BUILDING, 885 6TH AVE., KENDALL'S APARTMENT
Kendall gets off the elevator and walks through the lobby. She exits the building and starts walking down the street to the left. Meanwhile Mason who has been outside spots her out of the corner of his eye.
Mason: Hey Kendall, wait up!
Kendall turns around and sees Mason. Immediately she’s flustered and unsure what to say or do. She quickly flashes back to her previous evening with Kyle and wonders if he’s lurking in the corners watching.
Kendall: Mason, what are you doing here?
Mason: Where have you been? I haven’t heard from you. I’ve been calling all night and morning. You ok?
Kendall: Yeah. I’m sorry. I just haven’t been feeling well.
Mason: Oh, what’s wrong?
Kendall: Nothing, I’m fine now. Just was heading out to get some air that’s all.
Mason: Oh, well I’ll join you.
Kendall: No. I mean, I’m just going for a quick walk and headed back to rest. I have a big meeting tomorrow so I just want to take it easy and relax. Not push myself. You understand?
Mason: Oh, of course. Um, well I guess just give me a call if you need anything?
Kendall: Of course. I’ll see you soon.
Kendall quickly departs from Mason before the guilt starts to settle in and Mason sees that something is clearly not right. Mason for a second contemplates that something is right but forgets and starts to leave.
9. THE MALONE HOUSE
Walter enters the household having come from a morning at the office. He places his jacket and briefcase at the front side table. Passing through the first two rooms he finds his wife, Ivy, in the kitchen preparing a salad.
Ivy: Oh you’re home, I didn’t hear you come in.
Walter: I decided to come home for lunch today.
He kisses her on the cheek and then sits on the stool beside her.
Ivy: How has your day been so far?
Walter: Oh you know, the same old same old. Daniel Evans still playing as dirty as ever and me refusing to stoop to his level no matter how much my team disagrees.
Ivy: Oh darling. I’m so sorry. The only reason Daniel Evans has to do that is because he knows he has no other way of winning. The only way that he thinks he can win is if he can discredit you somehow.
Walter: I’m all too well aware.
Ivy: What do you mean?
Walter: As much as I’d like to think that all of New York can see through bullshit, it would seem that is not the case. I looked at the current polls this morning versus two days ago. Daniel is running away with this and not looking back.
Ivy: How far?
Walter: Too far. I have to do something or I might as well drop out. I just don’t know what. My heart is dedicated to this and I’ve put in far too much work to just walk away. And the state of New York does not need someone like Daniel Evans in office. But I feel like I have my hands tied.
Ivy: Well it’s not over yet. There’s still plenty of time. You’ve seen plenty of times where things change very quickly. It’s politics, nothing is for certain.
Ivy looks over at Walter. She sees his mind racing and that he’s suddenly a million miles away.
Ivy: Hey. I’m proud of you, you know? You’ve stuck to every word that you’ve said. You have to find peace in that you’ve done this entire campaign and have stayed true to who you are. That’s something to be proud of and I’m sure that the countless individuals who are standing beside you on this feel the same way. The citizens of New York want someone who has dignity and pride. Not someone who is willing to sell out the nearest person for their own personal gain. We’ve seen far too many greedy politicians take office and screw over the American public for their own selfish needs. You’re not that man. And that’s why I love you. You’ll get this. I know you will.
A sea of people wait in the lobby of Chelsea Studios waiting for one of the two elevators to arrive. Some have chosen to take the back staircase while some others who are aware of the freight train elevator a few blocks before hitch a ride there.
10. WALDORF HOTEL
Meanwhile later in the evening, a black car pulls up to the Waldorf Hotel. In it is Rebecca and Gregory Lincoln, a family friend.
Gregory: Are you sure about this? I really think you should let William handle this.
Rebecca: I’m tired of letting William handle things Gregory. I think it’s time I start taking care of things myself. Besides, isn’t it clear that William is incapable of handling things? Why else are we in this position?
Gregory: But still Rebecca, you don’t know what could happen?
Rebecca: What could happen? What on earth are you talking about Gregory? Don’t be ridiculous. Now you wait here for me. This shouldn’t take long.
Gregory: I have my cell on me. Call me if you need.
Rebecca: I won’t.
Rebecca flashes a quick smile at Gregory and quickly exits the vehicle. She enters the hotel lobby. Reaching in her purse she pulls out a piece of paper. Written on the paper is a room number circled in black ink. She quickly makes her way to the nearest elevator and rides it several flights up. Her mind is flooding with the countless scenarios that could happen before her. What to say? What not to say? It even crosses her mind that this could all be for nothing. That the information could be false. The door opens as she reaches her floor. Rebecca turns right and walks down the hall until she reaches the room. She takes a deep sigh and knocks on the door. For a while there’s no answer. She double-checks her paper to see if it’s the correct room number and it is. Again nothing. Rebecca starts to walk down the opposite end to look when the door starts to open slowly. She hears the door opening, walks back, and there’s the answer. It’s true. It’s Olivia DeWitt.
Rebecca: You really are here.
Olivia: Why Rebecca. What took you so long?

11. AVA LOUNGE, 210 W. 55TH ST
Daniel, Carter, and Lauren are all seated a table together having a round of drinks celebrating.
Lauren: A toast to crushing Walter Malone and it forever being that way.
Daniel: I’ll drink to that.
They all raise their glasses to one another and take a drink.
Daniel: I told you both how easy this was going to be. A guy like Walter isn’t up to the challenge. Sure he’s a very capable guy and very smart but there’s more to this job than that. Sometimes you have to get your hands dirty to make things happen. Am I right?
Carter: True.
Daniel: There’s not a single politician I think that could go under a lie detector test and pass saying that not once they did something they thought was immoral. Not one. It’s politics. It’s a corrupt business but we get things done. And we’re gonna be the ones to get New York back on its feet.
Meanwhile in another corner is Paloma and her friend Gabriella at the bar having a drink.
Paloma: How you pulled this off I will never know? Who do you know?
Gabriella: My sister was seeing one of the guys at the front for a while so I got in all the time. The relationship didn’t work but it didn’t stop him from letting me in.
Paloma: Well send my thanks to your sister.
Gabriella: So, what’s new with that cute brother of yours?
Paloma: Ew, yuck.
Gabriella: What?
Paloma: He’s my brother Gabriella. Don’t talk about him like that. You’re like my sister which makes it even weirder. Besides he’s older.
Gabriella: Not by much.
Paloma: And changing the subject.
Back over at Daniel’s table.
Lauren: Well boys I’m afraid I’m going to call it a night. Don’t want to keep my husband waiting.
Daniel: Oh stay! Come on, I’m sure he’s fine.
Lauren: Goodnight Daniel.
Carter: I’ll walk you out. I should get going myself. See you tomorrow Daniel.
Lauren grabs her purse and leaves with Carter. Carter accidently bumps into a man dressed in all back on his way out. He excuses himself and leaves with Lauren. Daniel takes another sip of his drink and looks around the bar. As he scans the room he sees Paloma and Gabriella over at the bar by themselves. He stares for a little while as they talk to each other. Shortly after he walks across the room and approaches them.
Daniel: Good evening ladies.
Gabriella: Hello.
Daniel: What are two gorgeous women like you doing all by yourselves this evening? Surely you’re here with someone.
Gabriella: Actually we’re not. We came together.
Daniel: Then why don’t I buy you both a drink.
Daniel crosses between them to the bartender. Paloma pulls Gabriella over a bit.
Paloma: What are you doing?
Gabriella: What?
Paloma: We don’t know him.
Gabriella: So what? It’s a free drink. Lighten up ok. Nothing’s going to happen. We’re just here to have a good night and that’s all. Alright? Chill.
Daniel crosses back over to them with drinks in his hand and hands one to each of them.
Daniel: Here you are ladies.
Gabriella’s cellphone rings. She takes out her phone and it’s one of her friends calling.
Gabriella: I’ll be right back.
Paloma: Gabi!
Gabriella: Chill, I’ll be right back.
Gabriella gives a stern look at Paloma to stay put. She takes her drink along with her outside of the bar leaving Daniel and Paloma alone.
Daniel: I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself. Daniel Evans.
Paloma: Paloma. Daniel Evans? Why does that name sound familiar? You’re not the guy that’s running for senate are you?
Daniel: Guilty as charged.
Paloma suddenly perks up at the news of learning that Daniel is in politics and moreso that he’s up for senator. Her manner completely changes from standoffish to flirting. Daniel completely buys into it like a sucker.
Paloma: I’ve never actually met a politician before. What brings you here? Shouldn’t you be off somewhere planning how you’re going to help save the state of New York?
Daniel: Everyone needs a break here and there.
Daniel takes her hand and holds it in his.
Daniel: I hope you don’t mind my saying this, but you are a beautiful woman.
He goes in to kiss her hand. Meanwhile at the other corner of the room, the man dressed in black is standing with a camera. He quickly takes shots of Daniel and Paloma’s conversation and intimate moment. He gets the shot and exits the bar.
12. THE CONTINENTAL APARTMENT BUILDING, 885 6TH AVE., KENDALL'S APARTMENT
Kendall is just coming back home. She takes out her keys from her purse to open the door. She opens the door and closes it behind. The apartment is dark and is completely silent. Kendall assumes Amy-Beth is out for the evening. Dropping off her purse on the side table, she then flicks the nearest light on. She gasps as she sees Mason seated in a chair in room.
Kendall: Jesus Mason! You scared me. What are you doing here? How did you get in?
Mason: Amy-Beth let me in. She went out for the evening so I stayed here to wait for you.
Kendall: In the dark?
Mason: What’s going on?
Kendall: What are you talking about?
Kendall starts walking to the kitchen to avoid Mason but he follows her.
Mason: I know something is wrong. I can tell. You’re avoiding me. Why?
Kendall: I told you, I’m just not feeling well today.
Mason: I don’t buy it. Something happened between last night and today that’s completely changed your mood. What? Just tell me.
Kendall: I can’t!
Mason is thrown off by the admittance that something is disturbing Kendall. He believed it to be true but part of him still thought that maybe he was making up in his mind.
Mason: So something has happened then?
Kendall: Mason, I can’t talk about this right now. I really just need to get some sleep. Can we just talk about this tomorrow?
Mason: Why? I don’t want to go all night worrying about you and you shouldn’t have to go through with whatever it is alone. I can help you but only if you let me. Let me.
Kendall looks at Mason contemplating whether or not to tell him. In her head the conversation with Kyle keeps replaying over and over. His threats. But part of her wonders if Kyle really will stay silent or if he’s just waiting to spill the news later anyway. Perhaps it would be better coming from her now.
Kendall: Ok. I’ll tell you. Last night Kyle came over here.
Mason: Kyle? For what?
Kendall: To threaten me.
Mason: My brother threatened you. I don’t believe it. Why would he do that?
Kendall: He was trying to blackmail me into leaving you. You know you’re brother has always had it out for our relationship and has wanted it to be over since it began.
Mason: Wait a minute. I don’t understand. Blackmail? What could my brother possibly be using to blackmail you with?
Kendall: I’m sorry Mason. It was a mistake. One time.
Mason: One time what?
Kendall: He had photos. About six months I went out on a go-see with a client. It was going really well, or so I thought. I was getting great feedback but something still wasn’t working. The client was a guy and he started to hit on me. I was in a very vulnerable place then, you know that. I was feeling like nothing was working. That I wasn’t good enough. I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong.
Mason: Did you sleep with him?
Kendall: No! You have to believe that. I swear to you.
Mason: Did he kiss you?
Kendall: Yes.
Mason: Did you kiss him?
Kendall: Yes.
Mason turns away from Kendall and starts to pace. Millions of thoughts circle his mind as he tries to cope with what he’s just learned. He tries to manage his anger for both Kendall and Kyle at the same time.
Kendall: Mason?
Mason continues his pacing through the hallway. His anger continues building and building to him picking up a vase and smashing it to the ground. Kendall is completely startled and afraid. Having never seen an ounce of anger out of Mason, she’s unsure of what to say if anything. Mason without saying a word heads straight for the door and leaves.
13. WALDORF HOTEL
Meanwhile at the Waldorf Hotel in James’ room, he’s out in the living room pouring two glasses of wine. You can hear from the bathroom the sound of someone taking a shower. He lights several candles throughout the room and dims the light.
James: What are you doing in there?
He sits down on the couch and takes a sip of wine. He no longer hears running water.
James: About time. Get in here. I poured us some wine.
Just as he goes to take another sip, the bathroom door opens. We see a silhouette of a woman from a distance in the dark. James turns and smiles as she starts coming forward into the light.
James: Thought I was going to have come in there and look for you.
Victoria: I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to take so long.
James: Get over here.
14. WALDORF HOTEL
Olivia has let Rebecca into her hotel room and out of the hallway. Rebecca walks around taking in the room and Olivia’s belongings.
Rebecca: You have quite a few things here. This doesn’t look like a short trip.
Olivia: I hadn’t ready set a return date. I figured go wherever the wind takes me. Figured that was a good attitude.
Rebecca: Really? How charming.
Olivia: You can never be over-prepared in my opinion. It’s best to have everything you need just in case.
Rebecca: Of what?
Olivia: Nothing particular.
Rebecca: Alright Olivia. I’m not going to play games with you. There’s no sense in even trying. Just what exactly are you doing here?
Olivia: I can’t just come to visit?
Rebecca: Don’t give me that crap. You’re up to something and I can smell it from over it. You know damn well you’re not to return and here you are. There was an agreement and you’re breaking it. Now we’ve surely have stayed true to our word. What’s the reason you’re breaking yours?
Olivia: Oh Rebecca. You amaze me. You know what I always liked about you? You put on this show that you’re so strong but underneath I can see how scared you are. Scared of my even being here. You know what that gives me? Power.
Rebecca: You have no power here.
Olivia: Oh I do. Lots of it. I’m back Rebecca and everything is going to go right back to the way things were.
Rebecca: You’re psychotic.
Olivia: Am I? I know what you did. It took me all this time to find out but I did. And when I tell everyone what you did to me all those years ago, everyone will disown you. Everyone will hate you. Everyone will want to see you suffer like I did then. I’ve waited so long to see you pay and finally that day has come. You’re finished here.

15. CARNEGIE CLUB, 56TH ST
In the very vintage looking cigar bar sits the mysterious photographer who took the snapshots of Daniel. He’s very out of place with the current scene filled with well-dressed men and woman parading about the room. Not because of himself but because of his current attire. While waiting for his guest to arrive he indulges in a gimlet with Beefeater’s gin. Finally his guest arrives.
Photographer: Was beginning to think you weren’t going to show and that you didn’t want this.
The photographer leans down and picks up a brown envelope and hands it over. Inside are the photos from tonight of Daniel Evans. He take another sip of his drink and takes in the reactions of the photos.
Carter: I can’t believe you got this.
Photographer: Well you were right. Wait long enough and he’ll do something stupid. I can’t think of anything more stupid then getting caught serving and drinking with an underage girl at a bar. Then to hit on her? Good stuff.
Carter: I’ve been cutting it so close lately. I’ve been prying more and more lately to get more info. I’ve pissed him off a few times. I have to lay low for a bit. But with this now, I may not have to do anything else.
Photographer: I really think you’re crazy for getting involved in this. If you get caught-
Carter: I won’t. I’ve been very careful.
Photographer: I’m just worried about you.
The guy grabs Carters hand out of concern. Carter quickly removes his hand away.
Carter: Joe?
Joe: I’m sorry. I forgot. Public. I just want this to be over and done with. So you can go back to normal. So we can go back to normal. I mean is this really what you want to do? Is this what you think is going to get you further into politics?
Carter: It’s not just about that. Do you have any idea of how much money this bastard has given to anti-gay organizations throughout the years? How many rallies he’s been involved in?
Joe: I know. You’ve told me. But why not go after that?
Carter: It’s not enough. Please, how many countless politicians have we’ve seen in office like that? But this? This will do it. This is the kind of front page news that could kill a campaign. Will you send it out?
Joe: Carter, come on. I don’t want to get my hands in this.
Carter: Joe, you already are. You know I can’t. Please?
Joe knows very well how much all of this means to Carter. He doesn’t quite understand it fully or agree. But he’s willing to do just about anything for Carter. They’ve been with one another for three years now. He’s watched Carter struggle paving a way into politics at the beginning for being gay. He doesn’t agree with Carter going back into the closet to climb up the ladder. Carter has told him that once this campaign is over that their lives will as well. It’s the one thing that Joe is holding onto.
Joe: Fine. I’ll do it. Just this once. I’ll see you at home?
Carter: Of course.
Joe starts to get up from the table.
Carter: Thank you.
Joe pauses for a moment, knowing that Carter’s “thank you” here really means “I love you”. He smiles back at Carter and then heads for the door.
