1. CHANNING INDUSTRIES, WILLIAM’S OFFICE
William: Is this true?
Neither James nor Rebecca responds.
William: It can’t be. That means-
Olivia: Kyle isn’t your son William. Kyle isn’t a Channing.
William turns to Rebecca who has her back turned away.
William: You turn around and look at me. Look at me!
Rebecca is completely frightened and exposed. This is the last place she wants to be right now. She slowly turns around to face William. Tears roll down her pale face.
William: Is what Olivia saying true? Tell her she’s lying. Tell her that she’s making this up.
Rebecca continues crying. There’s nothing she can say. Her worst nightmare is coming true right before her very eyes. She never thought this day would ever come. Her silence is enough for William. William desperately longs for this to be false but Rebecca’s actions tell him everything he needs to know.
William: My God. It’s true. I can’t believe this. You and James have been keeping this dark secret behind my back after all these years. You let me raise a boy I thought was my own for all this time!
James: William, it’s not like that.
William: To hell it’s not! It never occurred to either of you that maybe you should have filled me in on that little bit of information!
James: We only did what we thought was best. What you wanted.
William: You all make me sick.
William takes one last look at Olivia and storms out of the office. Rebecca heads after him screaming his name as she runs out of the office leaving James alone with Olivia and Gregory.
James: You happy now? You’ve destroyed this family. Is that what you wanted?
Olivia: It’s never been in my agenda to destroy a family James. I just believe that the truth should always come out. It’s only fair. James and Kyle both deserve to know the truth. They deserve to know what you and Rebecca did that night.
James: You only care about getting your revenge.
Gregory: That’s not true.
James: You I don’t want to hear another word from! This family trusted you and thought you were on our side. You manipulated us! I just hope you’re both prepared for the consequences.
James leaves the office in complete disgust. Olivia walks over to the desk and looks at photograph of William and Kyle. She wonders what her own son would have looked like standing next to William. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t think about the child she lost. They may all think she’s just been doing this for her revenge but that wouldn’t be all true. It’s for her lost son and the memory of him.
2. THE MALONE HOUSE
Ivy and Scott have retired to the living room to further discuss what Scott knows about Victoria and James. Ivy is still in shock and not entirely convinced that it is true. For Victoria to have an affair would clearly jeopardize Daniel’s campaign. Who is going to trust someone to represent a state when they can’t manage their own household?
Ivy: How do I even know you’re telling the truth?
Scott: Really? Do you really think I’d show up at your house unannounced if it weren’t true? I’d be putting my entire job with William Channing on the line.
Ivy: True. You have a point. Victoria is having an affair with James? Why are you telling me this? Aren’t you concerned with how this may affect James?
Scott: Well I figured Mr. Malone is a close family friend. William has been very supportive and wants to see him win. I figured this would help.
Ivy: And? Surely you have your own agenda with this.
Scott: And I figured you’d play a great sum for information like this.
Walter: Sum for what information?
Ivy and Scott both turn their heads upon hearing Walter’s voice. Ivy wonders how much of the conversation he’s heard. She was hoping to keep this just between her and Scott for the time being.
Ivy: Walter. You’re home. I didn’t hear you come in.
Walter: That’s quite clear. What’s going on here? Scott, is there something I can help you with?
Scott: I was just paying a visit looking for you but I found Mrs. Malone.
Walter: Well I’m here now. Someone want to fill me in?
Ivy: Calm down Walter. Scott came with some very interesting information that could very well help your campaign if you choose to use it.
Walter: If I choose to use it? It already sounds like something I don’t want to use already. What is it?
Scott: Victoria is having an affair. An affair with James Channing.
Walter: James Channing? You’ve got to be kidding. That’s not true.
Scott: It’s very true. I’ve heard secret phone conversations between the two of them. I’ve seen receipts of flights, flowers, you name it.
Ivy: Scott thought you could use this information-
Walter: To what? Expose it. You know that’s not the kind of man I am Ivy. I’m very sorry to have wasted your time Scott but that will be all for now. I would appreciate it if you kept this news to yourself.
Scott: I understand. However, if you change your mind, you know where to find me.
Walter: That won’t be necessary.
Scott nods at Walter and shows himself out. Ivy looks back at Scott as he leaves. She feels that Walter is missing an incredible opportunity here but knows that he will never cross that line.
Walter: How could you even suggest the very idea of using that? You know how I feel about that.
Ivy: I know. I just thought just maybe this once you’d see what a great chance this is to bury Daniel. He’s practically five feet below already. Why not use this to bury him for good?
Walter: Because then I’d be just like him and what good is that? I don’t want to hear another word about this. We keep this to ourselves. I’ll be upstairs. I need a shower.
Walter kisses his wife and then retires upstairs to shower.
3. THE CONTINENTAL APARTMENT BUILDING, 885 6TH AVE., KENDALL AND AMY-BETH’S APARTMENT
Mason: What would have happened if Kyle never found out? If he never threatened you with this would you have ever told me? Or would you have kept this to yourself the entire time?
Kendall: I wish I knew. I could sit here and tell you that eventually I would have told you but I don’t know. I may have kept it to myself forever just because I didn’t want to lose you. Perhaps someday I would have told you because the guilt would have just kept eating me up that I couldn’t take it anymore. I can’t predict the future. All I can do is tell you how sorry I am for hurting you. I never meant to hurt you. I don’t even know what I was thinking in that moment. It was a selfish moment that I wasn’t thinking about anyone else but myself and my own wants. I didn’t think about the long-term consequences.
Mason: What really angers me even more is that you gave my brother the very power to do exactly what he’s always set out to do. From day one he’s wanted to come between us and you gave him all the cards. With the two of us together as a strong bond he could have never held a candle to us. But you just ruined that.
Kendall: I know I did and I am so sorry. I wish I could take it back and do things differently. But I can’t. All I can do is try to make it up to you.
Mason: How? By not doing it again? How can I trust you? I’ll just be waiting around for Kyle to expose another secret. What’s more important to you, your career or me? Are you just going to toss me aside again to try to get ahead again?
Kendall: That’s not fair. That’s not how it is.
Mason: That’s exactly how I see it and that’s exactly what it is. You can call it whatever you want but at the end of the day you chose to toss our relationship in the garbage for the chance at gig. There’s no misunderstanding that at all. So I ask you, what’s to make me think that you won’t do it again? What’s to make me think that the next time you’re feeling vulnerable again and feeling the hunger for work that you won’t do it again?
William: Is this true?
Neither James nor Rebecca responds.

4. 756 W. 181ST, WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, THE HERRERA APARTMENT
Carla returns home very frustrated and displeased with how her conversation with Daniel went. She thought he would have been more cooperative. As she comes through the front door she hears voices coming from the kitchen. She sets her things down on the side table at the front door and walks back to the kitchen. When she walks through the door she sees her daughter Paloma and her son Victor talking in the kitchen. Victor is Carla’s first born child. After his father’s passing Victor gave up a lot of his dreams to be the head of the family during his mother’s absence. He became the one responsible for getting things done for a while.
Victor: Mama.
Carla: Victor. I didn’t know that you were coming by today.
Victor: I couldn’t take seeing my baby sister’s face on the television any longer today. I figured I’d come by and see what really was going on.
Carla: Oh.
Paloma: It’s all going to go away. It’s how these things always are. It’s new news so of course everyone’s making a bigger deal of it than it is. But in a few days no one will even remember it.
Carla: I wouldn’t be so sure about that. I just went and spoke with Daniel Evans.
Victor: You went to him?
Carla: I thought maybe I could talk with him and reason with him. I thought I could get him to see how an innocent young girl’s name was being dragged through the mud and how unfair it was. To them it’s just a political game but to us this is our lives.
Victor: And what did he say?
Carla: He didn’t want to hear any of it. From the sounds of it he intends on going forth with the many theories others have been using.
Paloma: What theory?
Carla: He seems convinced as well that you are either a con-artist who planned this or that you’re being paid to do this from the other party.
Paloma: But that’s ridiculous. Did you tell him that?
Carla: In more ways than one. Don’t you get it? They don’t care what this does to you. They are only looking out for themselves and they don’t care if you suffer in the process.
Victor: Well there must be something we can do. Someone out there must want to hear Paloma’s side of the story.
Carla: I’m afraid that’s probably not going to be enough. I think Paloma may be right. We just have to wait it out and see how this all plays. It’s the only thing we can do right now.

Kendall: I don’t know what you want me to say Mason. I wish I knew what to say to make you believe me but I know that’s not easy. I know that it will take time for you to trust me again. I accept complete responsibility and the consequences that come with it.
Mason: It’s not going to be so easy to trust you after being betrayed like this.
Kendall: I know. But it’s up to you Mason. It’s up to you to decide where you want to go from here. I know that I love you more than anything and I’m sorry I hurt you. I can stand here all day long and say that I will never hurt you again but you have to choose to believe me. If you’re going to forever question my love then I’m not sure we can recover.
Mason: We can’t just forget that this happened.
Kendall: I’m not saying forget. I’m saying that if we still want to make this work then we need to find a way to move on. Let the wounds heal and work on making it better.
Mason: It’s just not that easy. I’m sorry. I’m going to need some time. I just can’t make a decision like that right now.
Kendall: I can deal with that. Atleast that’s not a no. Take some time. I’ll be here.
6. CHANNING MANSION
William comes charging through the house after leaving Channing Industries. He spent the car ride over replaying everything Olivia said in his head. There are far too many feelings and thoughts going on for him to process. He wants to hate Olivia but she only brought out the truth. If not for her it would have never came out. Besides, it’s true that he did betray her. He always knew that Rebecca was a manipulator but never thought there would be the day that it was done to him. Then to top it all off to be betrayed by his own brother? William and James had never been too close but there was always some level of respect between them.
Rebecca enters through the front door having followed William. She searches the first couple of rooms on the first floor looking for him in a panic. It never occurred to Rebecca that the day might come where her secret would come out and that she would have to explain it somehow. Isn’t that the case with most people with secrets? Rebecca heads upstairs to continue looking for William. She heads to his office. As she opens the door she sees William in the office tearing through papers.
Rebecca: William, we have to talk. Please!
William: I have nothing left to say to you.
Rebecca: Then let me explain.
William: Explain? What could you possibly have left to explain? It’s all pretty clear to me. You let me go on for years thinking that the child I raised in this house was my own flesh and blood.
Rebecca: I did it for you.
William: Oh don’t give me that crap Rebecca! You did it for me as much as yourself! You were looking for your own big payday!
Rebecca: That’s not true. I loved you and wanted to see you get what you wanted.
William: What I wanted? You know nothing. You robbed me of the chance of saying goodbye to my son! A child of mine was brought into this world for a very brief moment and you took that away from me! It doesn’t matter what was going on or how I felt about Olivia! It’s about that baby! You erased the memory of a new-born baby forever and never blinked an eye about it.
Rebecca: That’s not true. You have no idea how tortured I have been about this since that day.
William: Tortured? You were tortured? Please, tell me how you were tortured?
Rebecca: I have had to live with this every single day! It has not been easy. I know what I did may have been going too far but I only did it for you. To protect you. To get what you wanted. To get what you thought was owed to you. You think I like knowing that I took another families child and robbed them of that opportunity? I don’t. But I didn’t do this alone either.
William: Tell me about it! However did you con my brother into this?
Rebecca: I didn’t con him. He was just as much in this as I was.
William: What you two did is despicable. And to think of the amount of damage this is going to cause to this family.
Rebecca: Damage? What are you talking about?
William: You must be kidding? Have you not thought about how this is going to affect the family once Kyle finds out about this?
Mason: So I ask you, what’s to make me think that you won’t do it again? What’s to make me think that the next time you’re feeling vulnerable again and feeling the hunger for work that you won’t do it again?

7. JEAN GEORGES RESTAURANT
Olivia and Gregory are both seated at a table in the restaurant having a glass of wine. Both felt the need to decompress after the craziness at Channing Industries earlier.
Gregory: So, what do you think is going to happen now?
Olivia: I couldn’t say. I’m sure William is none too pleased right now. I’d say the ball is pretty much in his court with what he wants to do with this information now. If I were to predict I’d say that he’s going to tell Kyle. I think the idea of raising a son that’s not his own just kills him.
Gregory: William has spent a great deal of time grooming Kyle as the next great Channing.
Olivia: To then in the end not be a Channing. I’m sure it’s a major disappointment for him. Rebecca will probably try to claw her way out of this one.
Gregory: I’m not sure there’s anything left for her to do. The damage is done.
Olivia: I wouldn’t underestimate her. She’s got some fight in her. Rebecca will never bow down. She might take a break but she will surely pop right back up when you least expect it.
Gregory: James probably wishes he never came back. Talk about bad timing.
Olivia: James will be fine. Sure he’ll have to deal with his own personal guilt but he’ll be just fine.
Gregory: What’s your next move then?
Olivia: I’m not exactly sure. I think it’s best if I lay low for the time being. Let things work themselves. To be honest I think at this point I can just sit back and watch. William and Rebecca will do themselves in without my help.
Olivia grabs her glass and raises it to Gregory.
Olivia: Cheers. To the truth.
Gregory: To the truth.
Gregory raises his glasses and cheers with Olivia.

Gregory raises his glasses and cheers with Olivia.
8. MEDI WINE BAR
Meanwhile at Medi Wine Bar in Hell’s Kitchen, Scott is seated at a table having a bourbon old-fashioned. He thought his meeting with the Malones would have gone much better. He thinks it’s ridiculous that Walter would not jump at the change of using this information for himself. Never would have Scott jeopardized himself if he knew that his plan would fail. As he takes a sip of his drink someone sits down at his table.
Scott: Wasn’t sure if you really were going to show.
Seated with Scott is Ivy.
Ivy: Of course I would. I always stick to my word.
Scott: After getting shut down by your husband I wasn’t so sure.
Ivy: You have to excuse Walter. He prides himself on being a good man. That’s one of the reasons why I love him. But it keeps him from seeing sometimes the great opportunities that come his way.
Scott: So, what can I do for you?
Ivy: I need your help. If what you’re saying is true then great.
Scott: Oh it’s true.
Ivy: Good. Then I need you to find out exactly when James and Victoria are going to meet again. I want to know when and where.
Scott: Why?
Ivy: That’s for me to know.
Scott: And what do I get out of this?
Ivy: I think we both know what you get out of it. You get me the information I want then you’ll be taken care of quite handsomely. Deal?
Scott contemplates Ivy’s offer that’s on the table.
Scott: Fine. You’ve got a deal. As long as at the end of the day this doesn’t come back to me. I can’t have William or James finding out. Deal?
Ivy: Deal.
